Curatorial Statement: This work presents a profound dialogue between traditional sacred iconography and industrial desolation. Technically, the piece is anchored by a desaturated teal-oxide background, marked by vertical abrasions and atmospheric "weeping" textures that suggest a weathered, metallic surface. The central figure is rendered through aggressive chiaroscuro, utilizing oil-based depth to carve the facial features out of shadow. The juxtaposition of traditional religious portraiture with the raw, stenciled gold lettering creates a jarring structural tension, further emphasized by the tactile, distressed gold leafing at the base of the composition.
